The movie Dhoom 3 tells the story of a thief who breaks into a bank and is chased by SSP Jai Dutt (Abhishek Bachchan) after he leaves evidence behind. The thief is helped by his older brother Sahir Khan (Uday Chopra)and the two are pursued by Jai, who suspects them of being behind a high-profile robbery. As the thief tries to get the money into the hands of people who will spend it, hassled cop Jai tries to catch him, only to have Sahir interfere every time. The movie is full of action but also includes a love triangle between Sahir's wife Zoya Shergill (Huma Qureshi), his brother's lover Aaliya Merchant (Katrina Kaif) and his best friend Ronit Roy (Dhoom 3). Dhoom 3 also shows an unlikely friendship between Sahir and Jai. News of a big robbery leads the ACP Jai Dutt (Abhishek Bachchan) to a local casino, where he suspects wealthy businessman Sahir Khan (Uday Chopra) of being behind the heist. While at the casino, Jai meets Sahir's wife Zoya Ahmed Shergill (Huma Qureshi), who is infatuated with him. Impressed with her, Jai takes Zoya to live in his home. Sahir visits the casino only to find out that his wallet is missing. He returns to find Zoya has stolen it and has left a note saying this was done for him so he could afford his medical treatment. Enraged, Sahir calls Jai, who arrives just as Zoya steals the wallet of Aaliya Merchant. Sahir tries to stop her but she escapes into an elevator with Jai in pursuit. Later on, at home, Sahir's daughter Leena (Huma Qureshi) tells Zoya about her father's accident and how he had forgotten about her during the time of his accident. This conversation makes Zoya realise that Sahir had stolen money from his own company to finance her treatment for anorexia, she also realises that Sahir is not responsible for any of the thefts. Sahir's fears are confirmed when he notices a few of his belongings, including a dagger with the name "Ali" on it, at the scene of Aaliya's robbery. Worried, he tries to contact Jai but is unsuccessful. Sahir goes to see Jai but encounters Ronit Roy (Dhoom 3) instead and tells him everything.
